Some colleagues and I decided to go to the Rizal Library of Ateneo to do some research for planning and before going college mode all over again, we decided to stop by Sandwicheese, a small sandwich restaurant along Katipunan for lunch.
First thing we noticed was that it seemed to be owned by the same owner as Banapple as there were stickers of Banapple on the window. The place is so adorable as there are bread displays on the wall. It is like you're in bread paradise or a possible Yakitake Japan shooting place.
We all asked for the bestseller and the server suggested the Drippin' Roast Beef Sandwicheese (PHP160) so we all ended up ordering the same sandwich. For beverage, I decided to go for the Pretty Green Slush (PHP80) as i got intrigued with the mixture of calamansi and mint. Lastly, since B2 (we were with another B) and I were craving for fries, we decided to share an order of Seasoned Fries (PHP60).Service was quick as the food was given to us in less than 10 minutes. The "sandwicheese(s)" was neatly placed in a small box and there was even a little smiley written on it. It was a bit messy to eat though so B1 and I decided to use the knife and fork while B2 and T ate it the normal way.
It was really tasty! The caramel onions, mozzarella and parmesan combo, sundried tomato cream cheese and of course the roast beef all went well together! It was a great tasting sandwich. The roast beef was soft and flavorful and the sweet onions and the tangy cheese made it very delightful! YUMMY!
The fries were also good. It was cooked well and it was subtly crispy. Dipping it in garlic parmesan made it even more special. (And I totally forgot to buy a bottle of spread!)
As for my drink, it was quite refreshing. It was a bit sweeter than I expected but nonetheless enjoyable. I'll try the Dalandan Passion Slush next time and perhaps that pink salmon and eggs sandwicheese. :)
Sandwicheese is located at 225 Katipunan Ave., Quezon City, beside the first Banapple branch.
